Hello, my name is Dante. I’m a US sailing certified instructor and founder of Ventus Sailing.

I’ve been sailing in Biscayne Bay for 14 years, and in that time I grew from a novice sailor to a race coach. I’ve learned a lot about sailing in that time, and I hope to share what I’ve learned with you.

Funnily enough, I started sailing just because I needed service hours for high school. It was there that I slowly began to fall in love with the sport, and continued volunteering long after I had completed my required service. As a few years went by and my skills improved I was offered a position helping teach, and from there I moved to several other organizations and programs. Along the way I’ve sailed keelboats, dinghies, trimarans, sailed to the bahamas, and much more.

I founded Ventus to help students who want to improve their sailing skills, learn to teach others, or just enjoy spending more time on the water. As a result many of the programs we develop cater to the specific needs of our students. One example is our adult dinghy classes. Many people find it difficult to learn to sail dinghies if they’re not in a youth program, so we created a class to make it more accessible.
