Two weeks ago Alanea and Blu did their first PHRF regatta racing a Corsair F-27 down to key largo from Miami. They were accompanied by coaches Dante and Marite and chaperone Elena for a great day of racing on the water.
The girls were given 2 practice days to get familiar with the boat and recieve instruction from the coaches, then jumped straight into racing.
The girls pushed themselves to race without additional help, relying on their own skills and knowledge, with the coaches being present to step in if needed.
Intervention from the coaches was never necessary and the girls placed 5th out of 9 places in the MASF class while competing against adults with much more time and experience in their class.
Very proud of the hard work and effort they put in and can’t wait to see where their sailing adventures take them next.
